BLUEPRINT OF THE RUNWAY

Blueprint of the Runway is a student-centered fashion showcase created by the Fashion, Art, and Design Club at FIT to highlight the creative process behind emerging designers’ work. Rather than focusing only on finished garments, the event presents fashion as a full journey, from initial sketches and concepts to construction, styling, and presentation.

Designed as a gallery-style runway experience, Blueprint of the Runway gives student designers the opportunity to display their original sketches, design development, and selected garments in a professional setting. The event celebrates the talent, discipline, and vision of FIT students while creating a space for peers, professors, industry guests, and fashion enthusiasts to engage with the work more closely.

At its core, Blueprint of the Runway is about turning student creativity into visibility, connection, and opportunity. By showcasing both the process and the final product, the event encourages a deeper appreciation for fashion design as both an artistic and professional practice. It reflects FADC’s mission to support emerging creatives, build community, and create meaningful platforms that help students grow beyond the classroom.

Blueprint of the Runway was one of the most meaningful projects I had the opportunity to lead as President of FADC at FIT.

From concept to execution, this event was centered on celebrating student talent and creating space for emerging creatives to be seen and supported.

It challenged me to grow as a leader, communicator, and organizer, and I am deeply thankful for everyone who helped bring it to life.
